Art Hinaman is the Manager of the Technical Support Branch (AUS-420) within the Safety & Operations Division (AUS-400) for the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office located at FAA Headquarters offices in Washington, DC. This branch provides engineering and technical support to facilitate integration of unmanned aircraft systems into the National Airspace System.
Before joining the UAS Integration Office, Mr. Hinaman was the Aviation Officer for the United States Forest Service, where he was responsible for aviation operations, airworthiness, and standardization in support of wildland firefighting and a variety of other land management activities. Mr. Hinaman retired from the United States Army after a 32 year career, primarily in Army Aviation, divided between active Army, full time National Guard, and Traditional part-time National Guard.
Mr. Hinaman maintains a Commercial Pilot Certificate for Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Airplane Multiengine Land.
