Kevin Morris is an Aviation Safety Inspector in the Flight Standards Service at the Federal Aviation Administration.
A native of Minnesota, Morris is passionate about embracing new technology and empowering the drone community to operate safely.
He holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, Remote Pilot Certificate and is a Certified Flight Instructor. Morris is a subject matter expert on UAS operations, and develops UAS policy, guidance, and regulations.
In the past year, Morris and his team have worked tirelessly to create a cross agency team that regularly engages in digital outreach, such as webinars and live question and answer sessions. This has resulted in increased engagement between the FAA and the drone pilots, and supported the agency’s overarching educational goals for the community. Morris has worked at the FAA for 10 years, and previously was an airline pilot prior to joining the FAA.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, from St. Cloud State University. He coaches youth hockey and officiates National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and High School lacrosse.
