Thomas Walsh

Thomas Walsh is the Manager of the New Entrants Office in the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Technologies and Procedures Division within the Flight Standards Service. His office’s main focus areas include but are not limited to detect and avoid (DAA) technologies, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations as well as UAS traffic management (UTM).

Prior to joining the FAA, Mr. Walsh was an F/A-18 Pilot for the US Navy and later a Boeing 757/767 Pilot for Delta Air Lines.

Mr. Walsh holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University.
